  1. Applying for an e-tourist visa is possible for eligible foreign nationals via https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html. [The applicant may be aware that the Embassy does not process e-visas and any inquiries in this regard will need to be made directly on the e-visa portal.]
  2. Regular (Paper) Tourist Visa: Application for a regular (paper) tourist visa from an Embassy or Consulate in the United States (USA) can be made by visiting this website: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/usa/en/ind
  3. Foreign nationals with tourist or e-tourist visas would only be allowed to enter India through specific airport immigration checkpoints or sea immigration checkpoints, including flights covered by the Vande Bharat Mission or “air bubble” scheme or any other flights approved by the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation. Under no circumstances will foreign citizens with tourist visas or e-tourist visas be permitted to enter through land borders or riverine pathways.

Only the following categories qualify for an eVisa:

e-Emergency X-Misc Visa, e-Business Visa, e-Conference Visa, e-Medical Attendant Visa, and e-Tourist Visa.

E-VISA APPLICATION PROCESS

1. Apply online and upload your passport page and photo.
2. Online eVisa fee payment by credit/debit card/payment wallet.
3. Obtain ETA Online: An ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) will be delivered to your email.
4. Print out your ETA and show it at the immigration checkpoint so that the eVisa can be stamped on your passport before you fly to India.

Following the submission of your eVisa application, it will be reviewed, and if any Documents or Images are deemed inappropriate, you may be notified via the email address provided to re-upload them. This mail ought to arrive at the applicant’s address within a day.
